    Cut open Boost Box........

    Hello,
Well due to my over boost problems I have been having. I removed the Boost Box which has never worked from new checked all wiring a hundred times but now with it off, things were a bit better as in the engine running still over boost but not so much holds boost for longer.
So nothing to lose I cut open the Boost box to see what is inside, this cost me quite bit of money I know R&D does take time, but after 20 minutes on the net there is the same thing.
It is not only the Land Rover stealers that rip us off.

Hopefully by the end of the week I can have one working, different design but it just getting the time to do it plus a couple a Jaycar kits . Wishful thinking but one can hope.

Before bagging the product have you contacted BBS Guy to help you out????
I dont run one,I need one.It could be a simple case that your wastegate is adjusted to give too much boost. From what I understand the box will allow higher boost but the ECU will cut out if damaging boost is detected.

I can hold my D2 flat out in any gear in warm weather without overboost,in cool or cold weather it overboosts. It is a wastegate tuning issue in my case.Try taking some boost out of it.

    Hello,
I am not bagging anybody out. I do like value for money, I have contacted the vendor on quite a number of times with no result. There are a couple of other Boost boxes sold by the same vendor not working either that I know of. I have sent you a Pm should explain things a bit better.

    Finished my Boostbox

    Hello,
Well after fighting my over boosting problem and finding that the Boostbox I have doesn't work. I did a bit of internet time and came up with a very good idea here it is,
I brought a Jaycar Volt Switch KC5377 $33 and volt regulator of fleabay for $2.80. Assembled the volt switch and then set the switch volts at 4.3 volts. and the regulator at 4.7 volts steady. So when the volt sense gets to the 4.3 volts the rely switches to power up the regulator and switches. Had it installed for 3 days now and not one limp mode usally i would get 3 or so on the way to work. At first i throught I would have to use a MOSFET but the relay works fine. One thing I didn't expect at about the 20psi it switichs I get a bit of boost as the higher volts give a little extra kick of diesel. The evo sees overboost but no limp mode

Good stuff Ian. Glad you finally got it sorted, must be good to concentrate on the road and not the nanocom for a change.

. I got the normal boost box on mine and it seems to be doing what it says on the tin. I have the boost gauge (plumbed into the inlet manifold) reading 18psi peak boost with the S3 td5 inside map and now I can't use all of the extra power as I get clutch slipping every time I am too hard on the loud pedal, if I ease it on I can wind it right up but if it goes from no throttle to full throttle it just slips

I suppose it's time to start saving for a HD one.

    Cheers

    Hello,
Yes everything good, even fitted the 3inch exhaust tig welded it all up took some time, I have lost a bit of torque down low but over all seems to pull better pulling the boat today it seemed to do it much easier. Have made a longer cone from the turbo outlet will get it fitted this week I hope.

If anybody else wants a boost box the kit is easy to make, setting up with a volt meter, the draw back is it is a bit bigger that other one I had.

As for selling them not really into that, but will be very willing to help people with theirs, welding is more my thing. You could do it in a couple of hours if anyone needs help PM me.
