Stick with the jerry cans. Much easier to fill/use and can be carried nearly anywhere.
I was looking at the BCF 59L flat water tank with a view to having it sitting on the floor in the back with the fridge on top of it. However, looking at it I can't see how I could get more than half the water out without tipping it up since the output connector is half way up! I have currently got a simple 20l Jerry can but with a trip up to Cape York planned for later this year I am looking to carry a bit more H2O.
Am I missing something?

Said tanks are generally useful only if mounted vertically ...e.g. behind rear seat squab or at the side of the rear compartment for example...

That picture looks like the tank in my camper trailer. If so it is upside down and the outlets are the two small bosses which are at the bottom. The big boss is usually the inlet.
There is provision for a vent on the centre of the top, but in mine there is no room and the vent is just a screw in brass fitting on the top of the end.
On a second look there are a couple of bosses on the sides of that one either of which could also be outlets, so it is a bit different to mine. They usually have material in the hole , so you drill out the one you want to use. The outlets in most camper/caravan tanks are 13MM stubs for normal size hose.

agree with phillip above, more suited to the camper trailer with a hand pump for extracting the water.
