    Knocked up some racks.

It's thought id post pics of the racks me n my ol man knocked up. We basically used Aluminium screen door cage, stupidly though we powder coated it before fitting and found the gutter feet we were going to use were way too short. So it's half painted. Half not.

That's funny. I did the same thing. I made up a rack and painted it in a bit of a hurry, and after I put it on I realised there were a whole pile of things to change. Of course, that was a year ago. That was odd for me - usually I make something and then leave it unpainted for a while until I know it really is finished.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.

Looks good, but triangulate (brace) the mounts or it will shake side to side and damage the gutter, rack, vehicle.

I see your point, but how would you brace it, is there a set way? Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

    Question

How do you get round ADR with a home made rack? And does it effect your insurance.

I see nothing in ADRs regarding anything other than ladder racks..

But I do see AS1235:2000 for roof rack complaince

It includes a 200kg slide test, 20' load test etc...
