    3.5 efi fuel pressure

    Hi
Today I decided to disconnect the fuel supply line to my cold start injector .
i expected huge pressure to be in the line but found the line to be completely depressurised and Id only driven the car 10 mins earlier .
Does this indicate fuel pressure reg is kaput ?

With the engine just turned off, if you clamp the outlet hose from the reg SHUT then you can see if the pressure drops as fast. Also check the vac hose to the reg for fuel leakage. The problem is as likely to be a faulty check valve in the fuel pump, to check clamp the inlet line after switch off. You could fit a pressure gauge to your disconnected cold start solenoid hose for diagnosis.

If the reg is faulty is this where the fuel will escape to or something ?
I imagine a fuel reg is vac operated and if the diafhragm fails fuel somehow gets to the vac side of the diafraghm .

Regulator diaphragm failure lets fuel into the vacuum side. Engine runs rich and rough in some cases. Regulator valve seat wear will simply leak into the return hose back to the tank.
