Thread: 300tdi lift pump

    300tdi lift pump

    There is a small screw centre top of the lift pump. Can someone please tell me if it is supposed to be loose or tweaked up tight.

    That's the bolt that holds the inlet onto the filter ( Take it off and have a look - you should anyway to check if the wire mesh is clear of debris). And, it should be tight so it seals the join

    Thanks. I was getting a strong smell of diesel with a warm engine, but no actual leak. I suspected the lift pump and found the screw loose.
