fuel filter and pump in Td5

    Hi all

I've got a 2002 Disco Td5. I've just had the fuel pump replaced. Can someone please tell me if they should have replaced the fuel filter at the same time? Can someone please tell me where the fuel filter is located?

Hope there are some people that can help...

    Thanks guys

I wouldn't have thought it necessary to repalce the filter. The filter is located in the rear drivers side wheel arch.

The fuel filter is behind the right rear wheel. Unplug the water sensor lead then unscrew the water sensor to remove the filter.

There's no particular reason to replace the filter if the pump is replaced.

    Hey mate,

I had my fuel pump replaced on my 2003 D2 TD5 2 years ago at 190,000km. They cleaned out the fuel tank for me as it was full of sediment but didn't do the filter. I picked one up and changed it myself. It is located on the rear right hand side. Get under the back right side and you can't miss it. Just remove the sensor plug on the bottom and unscrew to change. It sounds like sediment in the tank is the big killer of pumps so i reckon you are on the right track making sure it was changed.
