i would just stick to a good maintenance program........i grease mine every 5000km or after an extended trip
never had a UJ fail, have caught one starting to fail during greasing
am wondering about using denso tape around the drive shafts uni joints to keep dirt water mud etc out of em, havent done it yet just had the idea while using denso tape at work today, what about using it on fasteners etc under the car?

Desno tape is excellent stuff for its intended use... on stationary objects/structures... I reckon that the combination of flexing and centrifugal force would shatter the tape in very short order if used on a drive shaft/UJ.
The problem will come if you dont get the Denso tape neatly around the component, if there is any gap water will get in and the Denso will hold it in there and it will rust/corrode/fill with dirt etc without you being able to see it.. I have seen brand new spare hydrolic hose's not wrapped correctly and when they have gone to be used the fittings and threads have been rusty underneath the denso tape.
Think as suggested, regular maintainence is your best bet.
Cheers Ean
I suspect that either the denso tape would fail due to flexing, or it would wear away the yoke.
Glad wrap works well.
