I did the same to a P76,it had been in a shed for a long time so I added diesel to the oil and once everything loosened up dropped it and refilled with correct oil.I would not add anything but 2T oil to diesel. Pat

When i was a kid I hated Kombi's with a passion, but now I really, really want a hippy trippy mid-late sixties Kombi with a couple of boards on top

Who said anything about a mid-life crisis

Get one - you won't regret it!

I bought it for $7000 and sold it for $7,500 four years later. They hold their value very nicely.

Ours was one of the last Air-cooled 2.0L engine, which whilst not all that fast was very reliable. Still easy to get parts for them.

Good fun, but definitely need another vehicle as it's not an everyday car....

Didn't they have the same engine as the two-door fastback coupe thing? 'Cause I had one of those catch fire on me . . . which does tend to put you off a type of car.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.

More like a happy tripie hippy, and the chicks were attracted by the fire smoke.
I must admit I had a Kombi years ago. I bent it when I drove it though the front doors of the local. Well it was 5 past 9am and that should have opened the doors at 9am

I can see Spudboy driving up the South eastern freeway at a pedestrian pace in the Kombi with a big smile as the impatient buzz past. A big Peanut M&M on wheels.

At least there would be plenty of time to take in the scenery. Coming back down the hill would be an adventure.
