you need to help us a little here, what year / what engine / how many klm ?
I picked up a load yesterday at Smithfield (Syd) and jumped in to head off to Maroubra. But there was nothing happening when I turned the ignition - no glow light, no battery light, no nothing! Not even a click. However, the clock, the hazards and the parking lights still worked, but no radio.
Had to get towed after one hour inspection by NRMA failed to diagnose a thing.
Any ideas, and, as the car is at a friend's place at Burwood, who should I take it to for repair?

Sorry. It's a 2002 TD5 130.
180,000 km
The nearest LR specialist to Burwood is probably ATV Automotive at 94 Queens Rd, Five Dock (the same road where the LROC meets for their monthly meeting)

Have you been doing any work in the engine bay?
check the inertia switch on the firewall for starters, rough loading procedures (dumping slabs of stone or punting with a forklift) have been known to set them off.

Thanks p38rover - will contact ATV if all else fails.
Tombie - nah, no engine bay work done for yonks.
Blknight.aus - checked inertia switch with NRMA fella yesterday.
Harrow Harro - ignition switch has been my suspicion. It just felt different the last time I started the vehicle, as opposed to the last time i tried to start the vehicle. I actually contemplated leaving it running while the forklift loaded me up. I guess intuition isn't just a guide - it's law!
Thank you all. Will check out that ignition switch.
NRMA- is that a breakdown service (sorry for the ignorance). If so I would have thought he would have checked the switch for the sake of 5/6 screws on the steering column cowling. Definitely sounds like a switch fault, had a few and sometimes if you turn it on and off a few times you get lucky and it makes contact.
