Disco I V8 Bonnet Scoop
Hi,
We all know that the V8's get hot, under the bonnet when stuck in traffic and being worked hard.
i know my cooling system is working as it should, not getting near the over heat, steady 92 thru 95c in traffic as soon as 1000rpm is hit the viscus fan does its job, then ram air etc and it drops down to 88 ish
So looking at different solutions, from this Subaru Impreza Reverse Bonnet Scoop 96-00 for FMIC | eBay
To removing the side rubbers on where the bonnet sits, to the rear rubber strip, or lifting the back of the bonnet with some spacers, or drilling a few 2' holes in the inner wing
I like the Disco bonnet to look plain, don't think a scooby rear facing duct wouldn't look nice, i know it would have to sit mid / to the front of the bonnet, just past the rad outlet where the lower pressure is, but when it rains it would soak my dizzy

HOw much heat would end up on the windscreen and by secondary radiation onto your face ?
Perhaps a bit of sheet-metal skulduggery under the scoop/bonnet would alleviate the rain on your distributor...

I have not got around to doing it, but there are several D1s around here that have had two of those front wing "vent" grilles from a D3 / D4 / RRS fitted. A couple of them are just "posers", and have not had the inner wing opened up to allow for a connection, but those that have claim that they help. Maybe worth looking into.

Cheers for the replies.
I had taken a look at the D3/4 RRS grilles, they look good on a modern Disco, but i cant picture it on a 14 yr old Disco, like you say "Posers", even the scooby vent makes me think twice tbh

This was Tuskers from years back. I cant recall what it was off, but it never looked wanky in the slightest.
Cheers
