    D2 Rear air suspension fail!

My d2 has a leaking air bag. I gave Triumph a call a second hand bag is $175 My local parts provider in Newy quoted me $330 for a new air bag and told me that second hand bags are unreliable and aren't worth goin there. Also a conversion kit to coils will cost me $350. I am unsure if i do the conversion myself how to shut down the compressor and what to do with the air lines. As i am setting off on family holiday in 3 weeks i am after a cost effective solution. What are your thoughts/experiences any advise welcome.

Plenty of info on this site. It's an easy job so get a pair and replace both. Even with freight you will be better off buying from the UK.

Somewhere in the D2 section (or maybe its in Good Oil) there is a very good how-to that’s been written and posted by a member, even lists exactly what tools you need before you start, as mentioned it takes about 1hr to change both, did my ’99 about month ago – 13 yrs old and first time the suspension has been touched. I never had coils last that long.

If you really want to go coils (don’t) then the conversion is easy, get a kit with the seats and all the bits, the lines can stay, as can the compressor and valves if you want to make it easy. Remove the fuse for the compressor and you’re good to go but there will be warning lights on the dash. There are 2 computer settings to change to make them happy and rid the dash of lights, Nanocom can do it or take it to the dealer.
