    Paper gaskets

Opened the "Elring" VRS gasket set this evening ....and the separate gasket kit for replacing the sump etc

The head gaskets and various paper gaskets appear to have a 2mm wide line of sealant "printed" on them ...is this correct? If so, does one need to put a smidgeon of sealant on the other side of the gasket as well?

Is a thin line of sealant needed on "rubber" sump and rocker gaskets? If so, what's recommended?

    thanks for advice
