    AN Fittings and Braided Hose

Are these things really the bees knees or just a popular way of making pretty hoses? I thought I'd use them for making oil cooler hoses if they really are that good.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.

They are good, but consider they are expensive. You'll need the adaptor from the thread you have to AN (also known as JIC, it's a unf thread with 37.5deg tapered seat/seal), then the hose ends and hose. There's a choice of hose, either rubber or teflon both with braid. It's a bitch to cut and fit without the tooling.

That said, if it's a D2 cooler you're replacing the hoses on then go for it, they suck even more than making the hoses.
