3 fuel tanks, one fill up point?

My 6x6 camper project has 3 fuel tanks, with 3 fill up points! One at the rear and one each side, just behind the front doors.

The two front tanks are the factory tanks, one under each front seat, there is also a rear ss, aftermarket one (currently the only one plumbed in), I plant to replace the two front tanks with ss ones too to try and tuck them up more out of the way.

I can see having to fill up at three different places, pretty much as far apart from each other as possible, becoming a big pain in the ass as I will have to move the car after filling each tank.

What are the options, if any for, having a single fill up point?

Well link the two under the seats as they should be the same level (just like on a prime mover), then have a transfer pump for the rear tank OR you could use say an 80 series Land Cruiser filler which has a switch to go between tanks to go front to back?!?

    Could make it work.

Bundalene did this great writeup of plumbing sill tanks into a 110 with filling all 3 from a (modified) normal fill point. Might give you some ideas.

If your tanks go right up into the seat box it might not work so well.

So it looks like, with some creative routing of fuel filler lines and two fuel transfer pumps (which i will need anyway), it is possible.

There are no under seat cubbies at the moment, just space for fuel tanks. I will investigate more this weekend see if there is an obvious way to route the filler pipes...

make a 3 way manifold and just run them all together. Tie the breathers and your set, Im about to start work on a 3 way filler on the wifes disco.

Our set up works well for us. The maximum we have filled is filled 190 litres and we can fill all tanks with the Hi-flow bowser.

Ensure your breather lines are as large as you can make them. and don't get any droops in them, as, if they fill up with fuel they can cause a lock and splash back at the fill point. Ours run either horizontally or up hill all the way back to the fill area.

By a 3 way manifold, do you mean have the filler split into 3 so you can put the pump nossel into any of them to fill individual tanks?

one filler point that goes into a 4 port manifold.

one for the filler one for each tank. Because youre working with diesel, you can weld one up out of standard steel then coat it with silver solder over the welds to ensure its fluid tight.

Im looking at making mine from a some box steel and some pipe stock

you can also get a valve thingy so that you can just switch between tanks with having to tranfer between tanks. The ARMY used them on the 6 x 6 for the twin tanks and as you are fitting a 4BD1 this would be iseal.......only thing is i'm not sure if the is a valve thingy that will do three tanks. the one switch on the dask also switched the fuel gauge feeds over as well.

i reckon worse case used this system for the front two tanks and have the one transfer pump to pump fuel from the rear to either of the front tanks

I still have the switch on the dash, when i got the car both factory tanks were just loose inside the truck and one of the filler points on the side was blanked off. I will see if the switch is attached to anything...
