I mentioned this briefly in the P38 forum http://www.aulro.com/afvb/p38a-range...et-time-2.html see Post #18

I raise it here however because when I pulled the rocker shaft etc out of its plastic bag to show my ol' Dad I noticed that a second rocker was missing its pad as well ...found it in the corner of the bag...

I bought these rockers about 4 yrs ago from a reputable 'indy' workshop in Sydney but delayed putting them in for about 12 months. They have done about 20,000 km. I only twigged to their parlous state when I removed them to replace the head gaskets... and found one of the pads missing

Range Rover world blog RANGE ROVER WORLD South Africa mentions a well known after market brand which they've discovered has been improperly machined thereby causing excess oil flow onto the top of the head, lower oil pressure and flooding of the valve stems -> setting up environment for sticky valves...

My question is : should I get alloy replacements or cast iron rockers...and what brand?

Can't justify adjustable Yella Terra roller rockers the $$$$$$$$$$$ are enormous....

Thanks for any advice
