200 and 300 tdi head swap

Hi all, I have a blown 200tdi head and a good 300tdi head with injectors, glow plugs, rockers etc..

can I put the 300 tdi head onto the 200 tdi block? (93 discovery)

I have done a bit of research and im finding it difficult to source a conclusive answer as to whether this swap can actually be done.

has anyone here actually successfully done this conversion and if so what is involved.

any info will be greatly appreciated.

    thanks in advance,
    Jarrod.

    1) different rocker shaft assembly
    2) different type of two-stage Bosch injectors
    3) different injector pipes
    4) different piston crowns

ok, I had actually read this. hmm, maybe just easy to go for another 200tdi head. I do have a spare set of 300 tdi pistons but that means big ends, probably rings and a hone job also. ...almost looking at a full rebuild here. ok, I think I will seek a 200 tdi head instead.
    Thankyou.

yeah I decided on a head from turners earlier in the year. I got a cheap 200tdi head off ebay uk and had it delivered to turners, after they checked that it could be re-manned they sent me one they had ready to go.. very speedy delivery.

Yep, I too have ordered a head from turners which is currently on my disco. (300 tdi performance head) Very good service, 4 day delivery from UK was impressive and Freda was very nice to deal with. couldn't recommend anyone higher
...AND it came to my door at only 2/3rds the price of a standard head here in au.

Have you noticed much improvement from fitting the performance head?

only really down low. its a bit hard to notice now that I am used to it and only drive 1 diesel discovery but initially I noticed it when I first took off
from my driveway after fitting it. just a bit pokier on take off.
I had a friend give it a test drive and he was also impressed.
(I also have a 2.5" mandrel exhaust which helps)
