    Discovery II Axles to Defender

Curiosity killed the cat so they say

Not that I have any interest to see this done, would axles from a disco2 fit onto a earlier coil vehicle such as a defender, rangie etc?

As in a bolt up fit, not worrying about ABS, Traction control etc, just the main bolt on parts

Rear won't fit a 110 or 130 without changing spring seats at a minimum, pretty sure the radius arms are different length on the fronts too.

    Why ??

If I was to buy a D2 (and I wouldn't) I'd want to put a Salisbury & Front Axle from a Defender into it !! So I could get rid of those horrible hubs & be able to use proper Landrover wheels on it.

DII uses radius arms and a watts link, so no, it isn't easy or really feasible unless you are really into fabbing bits up and definitely not a bolt in job..

The front arms are different type fixing on the chassis side, you can cut off the fixing on the axle side (the D2 arms are wider) and weld on D1 items (YRM solutions in the uk sell them) then use D1 arms.
As stated above wheel spacers or D2 wheels need to be used, Only other Possible issue with the front axle is the drive shaft flange, might need to be changed or adapted.

As for the rear, The A frame has gone in for a better Watts link, you could use a phanard rod for simplicity. The arms are also the same as the front (not sure if you could use a set of D1 front arms made to fit (bits from YRM again) or if you would have to make some adapters or new mount for the arms.
