Stuck at home for 2 days

Well, something that i have just experienced is being unable to unlock my 2004 v8 disco. The car was at home and in the driveway. Both fobs unable to unlock, and to make matters worse the drivers door lock is stuffed. The fobs were still able to lock but thats all. Had nrma come out and have a look, but being unable to open the bonnet made things harder. Battery seemed ok when wires were put beneath the car to test. Thankfully he urged me not to start smashing windows and keep checking and ring around. The next night about 1130pm i had success! Turns out the interferance was comming from my home doorbell button which had jammed on. That was all it took to cause me 2 days of grief!. (The doorbell chime unit wasnt working so i was none the wiser when the button jammed) The doorbell is one of those arlec wireless ones from bunnings. As soon as the button was released the fobs worked fine. Hopefully this info will help someone one day, as you may park outside a mates place where one of these doorbells live!

    Cheers,
    Jason

Another good reason why I NEVER use the fob on the Classic...

The first is a vain hope that some nutter would steal it...

Anyone know if this is still a problem with new models? I've got an MY13 D4 HSE.

It can occur on anything - if the right RFI is nearby.

Modern Defenders are prone to it..
