Replacement airflow sensor

I didnt realise disconnecting the maf induced limp home mode. I was told that the maf can be disconnected for a short period but fuel consumption would be up.

It ran the best like this since the misfiring started. I will replace the maf anyway to be on the safe side. Just need to work out why I still have this damn misfire.

No just until you hear the injection relay click, or leave it a minute or so after shutdown.
It sound to me that your misfire doesn't have anything to do with the MAF. It sounds like ignition related. Maybe the limp home richnes is easier to fire in the cylinder that is missing.

And D1s do NOT have O2 sensors, so a bit problematic looking for O2 sensor output.

Very true.
I guess you can prove a dead one but not a good one.

Generally if a vehicle has no O2 sensor I use a wide-band sensor with controller and still log against TPS and MAF.
