In all serousness, taking the t/c off a wrecking vehicle to make an in-use vehicle useable again would be the logical thing to do wouldn't it ??

Its possible.
He will have the TC out tonite,he has built diffs/gearboxes so has no issuse rebuilding the stuffed one and putting it straight back.
Ive looked on EBay,no such a kit listed.

An Ashcroft "complete" rebuild kit is just bearings and seals, no gears. I have a kit here if your mate needs one in a hurry Andy.

Gears he will need to buy separately, if available.

I agree that using the spare box may be a good idea. In many cases the intermediate shaft hole in the case will need sleeving.
