Sun damage
I have an 08 defer and the paint is great, it is destined to live outside in the scorching WA sun, what is the best way to protect the paint so it remains looking good????

Metallic paints esp. red, maroon, blue etc. have a coating of clear lacquer over the colour coat, this tends to trap (reflect back into the colour coat) UV rays and eventually destroy the paint.
Do as Tombie says above, but I would get a car cover or one of those car ports from Supercheap. Metal tube frame with white plastic (tarp. material), they come with 4 walls as well, they last 2 to 3 years and only cost about $100, you can also buy replacement roofs for them, I had one for about 10 years and replaced the roof 2 or 3 times, frame eventually rusted and got demolished in a gale force wind, Regards Frank.

As well as keeping it washed and polished, keep it waxed. The wax helps protect the clear coat.
