Thread: D3 electrical issues

1st I've heard of it hasn't affected me yet! There are the odd issues but from what i've seen of other vehicles nothing more than other vehicles. Probably just another person spreading crap about the brand due to their lack of knowledge of the vehicles some mechanics would prefer us all to still be driving 60 series.

The only electrical item I know of that might be affected by water crossings is the transfer case ECU. It sits behind the battery & is often affected when the engine bay is pressure washed (usually from the connector terminals/pins corroding).

This one ECU impacts many of the driveline controls though (speed, suspension height....).

Well this is good to know, I was starting to think about Jeeps.
While on tHe subject of D3s, how water tight are the doors. My D2 is hopeless, where as my Pajero NJ I never needed to worry about leaks.
