ARB starts off fine and then runs out of puff

My ARB compressor starts off pumping air at a decent rate of knotts but after a few minutes it's nearly ground to a halt.
I stripped it down and put new rings etc, greased up everything I could but I didn't get as far as the actual motor.
Is there anything serviceable with the Motor in the ARB compressors? Mine is an early type in a grey plastic tool box used only for pumping up tyres.

Any advice? I sent two emails to ARB...zero reply from either

    Thx.

Its Christmas time, most of the staff in the tech dept would be on leave.

Take it apart gently and see what you find

How old is this pump ? Most of the early pumps were rebuildable, but even in good condition they won't get close to the performance of the new stuff. I'd pick a new one, even if you know it won't last as long.

What would be a good 12 volt compressor ? I don't like the use and throw away type of gear, rather use service and repair built to last. Buy right, buy once.
