Haven't done anything to the RR for a while, but today tried to connect up the starter to check that it is engaging with the flexplate properly so that I can loctite and torque up the bolts and install the ZF.

I used a set of jumper leads and connected the +ve to the starter terminal, but when I tried to earth it to the motor I got a huge spark and the jumper leads got quite hot.

Is this a sign of a problem with the starter motor ???
