Looks like where the "Wading plug" resides, only should be fitted when crossing deep water and then removed, also allows any leaking oil to drain away and probably also the hole for the flywheel crank timing tool, Regards Frank.

The threaded hole just above the botom of the housing is for setting the cam timing.
It's to the right in your picture.
You insert a tool to lock the fly wheel when adjusting the cam gear, usualy only done if a head gasget is changed.

Being automatic there is no wading plug.
The large hole at the bottom of the housing alows any water to drain away.

The wading plug is used more on a manual to keep water out of the clutch when, well, wading in water.
They shouldn't be left in for daily use either.

    Cheers, Kyle.

Wading plugs are not used on the D2 manual or auto. There are a total of zero references to "wading plug" in RAVE and D2 Owners Manual.

Of course if you really felt compelled to do something about the lack you could always buy a D1 which does require fitting wading plugs.
