The diff centres themselves will fit straight in.
I assume thats what you mean by housing.. ie not the steel diff casing, just the central housing containing the locker, cw+p etc

Hi all,
Just wanted to get info as to whether late model F&R Disco 1 diff centres in housings will bolt straight into my D2. Rear is a Detroit Locker, and front is an ARB air locker. Both in housings, and the housings have been removed from the D1 already.
The D1 centres are 24 spline, so that's all good.
Any info much appreciated, and thanks in advance.

Yes, basically. The only difference is that the D2 centre may have a 3 bolt flange on the rear to suit the rubber coupling type tailshaft, so this will have to be swapped back, or fit a Range Rover classic tail shaft
I think the 24 spline D1 diffs also had the 3 bolt flange from the factory. I was thinking it was only the very early D1's that had the 4bolt flanges on the rear.
Cheers
Slunnie
