How do I replace the kickdown Cabe for a D1 Auto?
Is this a painfull job to do?
How do i get the end into the gearbox? do i take ff the sump and get access thatway?
Not only remove the sump, but the valve body too.

To undo the bolts for the valve body, you will need a T27 Torx bit.
It would be good to get a diagram of which ones to remove, and which ones not to remove. Basically the Torx heads that appear larger in diameter are the ones to remove, the slightly smaller diameter head bolts leave them alone.
It is fiddly, and you will get covered in trans fluid.

no, don't attempt it today if you haven't done one before...and need it tomorrow.
head gasket i recommend Elring composite, new head bolts and an Elring VRS .

I did mine on the front lawn last year, hardest part was routing the cable from trans back up to injector pump. Its messy and fiddly but if you keep it clean and dont rush it you'll be fine, i didnt remove the crossmember but i did remove the LH t/c mount. Get a trans service kit and do the filter at the same time as it comes with the sump gasket.
Rave has a diagram showing the valve body bolts to remove.

I used a new Falcon cable EA Borg Warner 51 3 speed and had the local Auto Trans bloke fit it along with new fluid and filter for around $300, worth a call to your local Auto repairer, Regards Frank.
Do you know where i live?
Port Hedland
it would cost me about 5 times that and only if someone touches landrovers. I got quoted 500 just to do a Auto trans service with me supplying the filter. i would get the, I dont touch landrovers or, Na mate i only know toyota.
It suprises me how shallow mined people are and how incompantant aswell.
