    A light I need a light

Ok I fess up I`m a nong. I keep leaving the twenty four volt key in the switch and over night it will flatten the battery's. As I start the old ute with twenty four volts this is not only annoying it also means I`m not going anywhere till the battery`s are charged. So what I thinking was a light, ah but no ordinary light. I need a light that comes on when the key is turned on to power the twenty for volt system then turns of when the motor starts. Much like a ignition light. But the 24 volt on the ute is supplied by a generator so a normal ignition light wiring is not a option. So that is question to you all. How can it be done? The twenty four volt key is a battery isolator key, so is only a simple rotary off on switch.

From the Switched + side of the isolator to side one of the light from the other side of the light to the oil pressure switch.

I would use one of the 24v bezel mount blinky imitates a security system led as opposed to a normal incandescent light.

If its got a door light switch wire a 24v piezo buzzer between the switched side of the iso switch and the door switch That will make a buzzer sound any time you open the drivers door when the iso is on or the engine is running.

    umm no,

a nice bright light will draw too much power for the switch to handle and will destroy the switch.

It`s just a 24 volt in dash warning light.

fair enough, but more than about 5w worth will toast the oil pressure switch contacts.

(we may just have different definitions of the word "bright")
