TD5 Electrical problem
Aircon stopped working on positions I and II.
Replaced the resistor pack for A/C blower motor.
Same happened (Positions I and II stoped working)
Replaced the resistor pack once more.
Cleaned entire unit.
Worked for a day and once again stopped working on position I and II.
I wonder if there is something else causing the problem and also caused some of the problems I recently had.
Recent issues:
Vehicle would stop running
I couldn't hear the fuel pump going when the ignition was turned on.
Replacing relays seamed to solve the problem.
I kept replacing relays under the driver's seat, they seamed to be OK except for one that was burned once.
Mechanic suggested it could be the fuel switch that was half triggered with vibration and causing a bad contact.
I bridged the fuel switch to eliminate that part of the problem, but the same happened some time later.
Then we found out that when touching the relays under the driver seat the fuel pump would start. (that's why replacing the relays worked, I would get them in contact again)
Relays under the driver seat seemed to be loose on the shoes. These where tightened.
ECU died
Replaced ECU - inside it looked like something cough fire. Some black stain on the lead.
Mechanic suggested that maybe the voltage regulator or the Alternator sending more voltage then supposed to.
He tested it last time when the new ECU was installed, but one wonders if the there is voltage alternate spikes rather then a continued higher voltage causing the Aircon resistor pack to overheat and blow and worse even, the ECU eventually die.
Thanks guys
Appreciate any suggestions
