    Auto stall

    Hi guys, ive noticed in my discovery (auto) that when i change it to reverse and drive the idle drops and nearly stalls the vehicle (and actually stalled today), anyone had the same dramas, is it something simple to fix or?

    You'll need first of all to enlighten us with a few more details.

    Which discovery is it a(1, 2, 3 or 4), and which engine.

    I'm going to make a huge guess and say it's a D1 V8, meaning that the stepper motor needs a clean.

    Yeah mate sorry its the v8 series 1, would that be a relatively simple job or something for a professional?

    Take about 10 mins, a can of carby cleaner, maybe need a new washer, and a large adjustable wrench.

    Have a search in the D1 forum for stepper motor clean, and you'll find some instructions.
