It's not as easy as grabbing some rotors and brake calipers and going for it. The combination of these and the bracket needs fabricating all have to be considered together - this is only one of 2 conversions available on the market that allows the standard steel rims to be used. If it was so simple, everyone would just do thier own - which very few do because of the difficulty level here - I've done my own conversion - had it 90% complete and would have got it working but it wasn't a system that was as well thought out and executed as this one, so I scrapped my plans and bought one of these kits - it contains a modified brake pedal box, new booster, master cylinder, bolts, brackets, eveything. All thehard work done. 👍😊

    Hi,

Long time viewer... I post here.

Is there a way to get a hold of this kit?

    Thanks

If anyone does make contact with Cookey I'd like to get one of his kits for my S2A SWB. I have reached out in the past but not heard back.

    Cheers,

    Adam

It is unlikely that Cooky will be able to supply anything in the near future due to work commitments by the sounds of it - I have called and left messages for him but he hasn't returned them - speaking to good friends of his he is seriously under the pump at the moment by the sounds of it - will keep trying as that's a couple of sets that are wanted.

Remembering he builds these kits between his full time job. He's not a full time vendor, just a very smart person that has made his knowledge available in limited quantities to like minded Land Rover people with a few specialist items. He's getting on in years and is working longer hours than most. It's not surprising he doesn't feel up to doing any production at the moment.

His gear is first rate and IMO the best available but don't expect warm fuzzy all singing and dancing service if he decides to build some more kits. You'll get what you pay for, it will all bolt on and work straight up and he'll help you get things sorted if needed, but don't lump him into a bucket with other poor suppliers who do it full time - that isn't Cookys gig.

My comment isn’t intended to offend.
The kit he does looks amazing.
But my friend would like to discuss the kit with him directly and be assured that replacement parts will be readily available if needed.

    Cool, I get that. 😊

FYI - For just the brakes, can't recall off the top of my head what disk it is - a common, off the shelf unit but I'd have to go look at exactly what. Calipers and pads are Willwood units - pads available off the shelf at many places in Australia, calipers and parts/kits from the Willwood website - they deliver internationally. Apart from that I also can't remember what the dual diaphram booster or master cylinder is if you buy the whole kit.

If he decides to run some more kits, he'll certainly be available to talk to, but at the moment he isn't so likely he won't show his head here unfortunately.
