D2 TD5 new alternator and now surge .

OK I reassembled the Disco 2 TD5 with a new alternator.

Cleaned the MAF with electronic contact cleaner, although it was pretty clean and then blew some bugs out of the mesh without going near the MAF. It looks like they got in the small pipe that runs from the drivers side as it was unhooked from the filter body.

I cleaned the oil out of the red ECU plug, checked the air cleaner, checked no water in the fuel filter, new idler and tensioner( already there), and started up.
I decided to give her a hard run in "sport", but going full throttle through about 4000RPM the engine cut , back on cut, back on.

I just looked at another post and maybe this suggests overboost cut.

I guess I had better check the wastegate movement.

I know the loom is full of oil and I have one on order from the UK along with washers and seals.
Any other ideas. I guess I should buy the Nanocom soon.
    Regards Philip A

Sounds like the modulator for the turbo, mine did the same recently.
    Can be bypassed.
Sorry cant remember how I did it, but all the info is here.

I joined the tube from the intercooler inlet to the turbo actuator with a 1/8" barbed fitting bypassing the modulator a year ago and forgot about replacing it.
