3" flexi hose - where to source? (Melbourne)

G'day all. My old 300tdi snorkel will no longer just bolt straight up to the Isuzu air cleaner - I need to get my hands on some 3" flexible concertina hose or something similar to run between air cleaner and snorkel. Anyone know if this stuff is commercially available and where I might get some?? Any help would be appreciated.

You could try a Farm or irrigation supplier. The hose for the water pumps would be similar if not the same. There should be some suppliers in your area.
    Cheers, David.

I got mine from a hose and rubber place near work.
Can pick some up tomorrow for you if you want - just let me know how long you need.

Be warned though, its crap from an airflow perspective. I'll be replacing mine at some stage with some solid tube and joiners.
Snorkel with about 80cm of corrugated 3" causes over 15"H2O extra restriction in my system, and you'll be sucking more air than mine does.

Hmm, might take you up on that - will let you know later when I measure up. I have always wondered how much the corrugated hose would disrupt airflow - have to say I got a bit of a shock when I saw how much the gaping mouth of the Safari snorkel shrunk down to a measly 2½" flexi hose that bent left, right and centre

By the looks of things, I'm not in as bad a shape as I thought I was. The work itself is more or less done, anything that needs to be fabricated has been. Now it's plumbing and a little wiring, and hopefully she'll turn over. Big shop tomorrow, and a good weekend's work, and with a bit of luck she'll be running by Sunday.

I have one more spot of welding to do, now I just need to find someone with, say, a TIG welder who'll weld a couple of T's to my stainless heater lines...

...... or you could look for proper internally wound (supported) flexible air intake hose which is smooth. Aviation stock at Moorabin, but if your hip pocket nerve is sensitive look for commercial stock

Mike, I bought this stuff years and years ago for the Tdi.

Eximo SpeedLock - Modular And Flexible Duct - SunFlex

I used the 82mm ID stuff.
I also cut off the small 2" spigot on the inside of the snorkel to reduce the restriction there too and used some non-setting mastic under the hose on the spigots to make sure everything was watertight.
