Excellent - thanks! I've managed to get a whole defender pedal tower, booster and master cylinder assembly out of the UK, which if I'm correct should go in with a couple of cuts to the front wing. This frees up the series pedal assembly and booster to go in the IIA.

    cheers

So I have read the above and have to admit that I am some what confused.
Does anybody know of a company here or O/S that produces a brake upgrade kit for a 1976 unboosted s3 88 including front disc conversion or a list of parts.
I hear of people using second hand parts but doen't that undermine the purpose of making the old landie stop reliblialy and safely ?
    Thanks for your wisdom
    Geoff

Certain second hand parts will have no effect on the operation or repliabilty of the brakes. If you want as many new parts as possible and want the best brakes - yes, upgrade to a full set of disk brakes and dual diaphram booster - it will stop on a dime then, but it depends how much money you have, it's not cheap.

If you can get hold of Cooky here on the forum, he does (or did) a kit with pretty much everything you need, but there are other kits available from OS as well. Cookys kit can be bought with a new dual diaphram booster and master cylinder too. If you just want to do the fronts, he'll also supply new wheel cylinders for the back drums that are slightly different in size and give you the correct brake balance front to rear. It's a very well sorted kit and as close as you'll come to a bolt on upgrade that is as complete as possible.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
