These motors do have issues with the EGR valve gumming up, removal is easy, and would eliminate it if it doesn't fix it
You could also check the MAF and all hoses for damage
As there are no codes, it is a bit difficult to diagnose and it would be a process of elimination, if you can do a few simple things it may reduce your mechanics bill

It could be a number of things, but lack of smoke and easy starting would have me heading away from injectors
There is also a filter on the PCV which can get blocked

PCB replaced my Master Cylinder and gave the D2 a brake bleed. The ABS Modulator wasn't functioning as cleanly it should and they put in a lot of effort working through the issues with it, spending a couple of hours more than usual for a bleed plus a few road tests and held back on charging me the hours they really put in.

    Brakes work great.

    I'd trust them again.

I use Paul Stevens in Gawler. Runs a Rangie himself, and very knowlegable. Always had good service from him.

    I take my TD5 to:
    British 4X4 Automotive
21 Petrova Ave, Windsor Gardens SA 5087
    (08) 8266 4506

Found them to be really good.

    +1 for British 4x4.

the Previous owner of my TD5 had it serviced from there, so when I took ownership of the vehicle I have continued to have it serviced there.

Have found Brenton to be really good.
