    3.9 Rover VSS

Hi, Does anyone know whether you need to have a VSS signal to the 14cux ECU? Starting to convert my 110 from 3.5+LT95 to 3.9+ZF trans, and If I need the VSS, looks like I will have to convert to an electronic speedometer? Many thanks

The VSS does a few things on a 14CUX
    1. with TPS decides whether to cut off injectors for overrun.
    VSS signal + RPM >1500+ TPS < 0.49 Volts =injector cutoff
    2. VSS signal + TPS <0.49V= stepper idle up to 1100RPM
Neither is crucial to operation but NTH particularly on an auto

No, it isn't necessary. There are threads on here somewhere about this. Just done this conversion in my Rangie and it is fine without one.

You can experience uneven idle when pulling up to a stop, but that's about it I believe.

    You'll be right.

Mine works a treat without it.

As above, don't lose sleep over it. My Rangie has been running just fine without VSS for about 4 years now.
