    Winch Upside Down

    Hi all,

I bought a cheap winch to replace the last cheap winch. It's a Tigerz11 12,000lb. Seems ok for the price, but the proof will be in the winching and longevity.

My question is, do winches have a right way up? It will fit better in my bar if I flip it over and have the motor on the passenger side. I reckon I can just spool the rope on the other way???

I intended on spraying the terminals on the winch motor with CRC battery terminal spray, to protect them. That's what killed the last winch.

    Cheers,

    Jono

If it was a gu patrol with the correct arb/nissan bar designed for a warm xd9000 the winch is mounted upside down, i know yours isnt a nissan but they all have upside down winchs!

yes they do, but its usually just a case of dismantling the thing then turning the upside downy bits around the right way and its apples again.

(its things like water ingress points and egress points that set the upway and down way)
