Puma 2.4 2009 engine flat spot 1800 rpm

I have a bad flat spot at around 1800 rpm and now the engine light is showing. The vehicle has 40,000 klms. I suspect it may be a EGR concern. Should I invest in a BAS remap and eliminate the EGR assembly?

Alive/Bas remap will fix this problem if indeed it is the EGR. It will transform your car and you don't have to remove the assembly just give it an operating strategy of zero.

Thanks for your input, to confirm my suspicions it is booked in to Rover Care at Monte Street Slacks Creek tomorrow to have DTC’s confirmed. He did however say that he has been successful in having the EGR blanked off in Disco’s along with other mods, I did not push the issue with him further at this time.

However I am still looking at the option of using the BAS remap, it now states on the web page it has been further updated. The concern I have is that I use Apple products and the uploads/downloads as he says don’t work with they're operating system, much is the shame as in all of my experiences with PC's have never been as reliable and easy to use as the Mac has for me.

Took your advice and have purchased a BAS the mechanic at Slacks Creek was unable to find an DTC’s recorded, and I had to show him where the serial port was!
The BAS re-map was $1024’s hope it works, will keep posted when it arrives and downloaded.

BAS remaps for a TDV6 in a D3 not that long ago were around $750 if you bought them directly from the supplier in the UK who then sent you a device where you down load your ECU files, email them to the UK and usually 24 hours later you get the up dated file back. Then you just upload it, end of story.

Might be an idea to ask if there is some room to move on price from the Australian supplier of a UK product that they sell directly for less.

As for plugging off of EGR's in Disco's you can easily do it up to a 2007 TDV6, after that you can't, not easily anyway because of ECU software upgrades. Whether or not LR did similar upgrades to Fenders from 2007 on as well I don't know.
    Cheers,
    Terry
