It could be the fuel pressure regulator leaking down overnight - does the rail have line pressure in the morning?
G'day all,
I wonder if any of you can offer some advice -
I have a 1999 Series 1 Disco, and recently changed the dizzy amongst a few other things.
I've timed it at around 10 degrees btdc.
Since then, it runs fine but starts only the second time I try.
The procedure that works every time is try to start it (ie; turn it over) for three seconds... then turn ignition off for a few seconds, and try again - It starts up no problems.
I was suspecting fuel pump but that was replaced a year ago.
Any ideas please?
Thanks
Pauly

Try going through the same motions without engaging the starter, i.e. turn the key to 'on' for a few seconds, then off, then start (the fuel pump runs for a few seconds to build pressure prior to cranking when the ignition is turned on). Might confirm the above theory.
Had the same problem in my Falcon, turned out to be the fuel pump relay. Might be worth checking/replacing as they're not terribly expensive.
