    Speedo correction

    Hey I have a question..

with 245/75's My speedo on my D1 reads spot on..I know this for a fact because I had to have speedo checked for engineering.

now I'm thinking that my next set of tyres will be 265's as I could really do with regaining that little bit of clearance due to my QT diff guards.

This will however make my speedo inaccurate how do you correct a mechanical speedo??

I was looking at a truspeed correction unit and only just realised it has to be used with an electronic speedo...

I would like to get the car re-engineered after new tyres just to keep everything legal.

I'm not doing it yet just thinking a head for the future

I thought your model D1 had a speedo transducer. IIRC, it's driven by a small cable from the transfer case.

    Transducer directly onto housing.

A box can sort it, or a gear drive from a defender sorts it (I think)

So what does that mean that I can use the truspeed?
