    Fitting new SLABS ecu.

Has anyone had any experience with fitting a brand new slabs ecu to a D2?
Besides setting the sls to coils, does it need to be programmed to the vehicle / intialised? Particularly if it has never been fitted to a vehicle. Does Nanocom have an option for intialising a new slabs ecu?
The reason why I ask is because I have purchased a brand new D2a slabs ecu (part no. SRD500070) to fit to my early D2. This afternoon I fitted it and now have brake warning/ handbrake light, ABS, SLS and hill descent lights on. I took it for a drive and that made no difference. I am getting the three gongs on startup.

    Any suggestions
    Thanks

I've only fitted used SLABS ECU's so can't say from firsthand experience what needs to be done on a new ECU.

That said the docs should help here. The first thing that jumps out at me is the Test Status setting. This will need to be set to "Enabled". The current version of the documentation indicates that this is used to indicate the new ECU has been tested for correct operation after it has been installed. If it is set to "disabled" this means the testing has not been done and the ECU is potentially in an unsafe state, hence the faults.

So I'd try setting Test Status to enabled if you haven't done so already.

    cheers

Thanks that helps. I found a post on a UK forum by a LR specialist which also said the new ecu needed to be enabled.
