    Sachs-Boge Australia Pty Ltd

    Hi Mark,

Sachs-Boge are at Thornleigh, might be worth a call to see if they do rebuilding or exchange, or even have specification information in case there are different versions fitted to RR and LR models.

And what do you think of this "modification"?

    Not much damping there!

The unit for a 110 is different to what was used on rangies. Perhaps they are the same internally, but there is an external part used on the 110. I have never looked close at that extra part, it may or may not, be simply an accumulator.

Many years ago I cut up an old unit from a rangie. They have rubber diaphragms that were badly perished, stuck to walls etc., and leaking, on the one I cut up. There may be more than one diaphragm, but was hard to tell from the mess that I saw. Or it may have been an accumulator bladder.

IMHO, if you can't get them reconditioned you are taking a gamble on them lasting once put back into service.

I recall 4WD's (??) the Land Rover parts place in Vic, listed reco units in their catalogue.

Depending on the total cost of:
    a reco'd Boge unit
an adaptor to raise the height
    new rear springs

You could be in a similar $$$ ball park to air springs.
