    Depends how you define "the job".
    If the generator used to charge the old battery, then it should charge the AGM OK.
    IIRC lead-acid and AGM batteries have similar voltage requirements.

    If you're expecting it to charge at the higher rates the AGM is probably capable of with a decent alternator, then no.

    I put a 130Ah AGM into the county as a second battery, but with the old 40A alternator on the Isuzu it was an all day affair to get both batteries charged up after a decent discharge.
