It could be the switch that tells the computer if you are in high or low range. This lets it change the map settings to suit.
Discovery 2001, On top of my transfer case sitting loose,but wired into wiring harness is this unusal switch,can anyone be able to identify it for me,this transfer case has not got no cdl.When you join the connector together no light comes on the dash at all.See attatched picture.

D2 TD5 Manual, CDL, Detroit Rear, Truetac Front, 2" OME lift, 32" MT Tyres, ARB Bull Bar, Winch, TJM Roof Rack, Driving Lights, Dual Batteries, ARB Side Steps, Rear Draws, Uhf.
I have just pulled it appart and found it not to be a switch,but inside is a resistor with W22 68R 5% stamped on it.Any idea what it would be ?

Haven't got a wiring diagram with me but from memory the lead to the CDL switch (if fitted) plugs into the transfer case wiring harness through that resistor.
