Do you still have the sump off? What ever it is its had a pounding. Looks like it was a square profile originally.. Do you have a workshop manual... Maybe start looking in the engine section, and pictures etc... Good luck.
I was doing the sump gasket yesterday and found two pieces of metal in the sump.
It looks like a washer of some kind, split in two or possible even more parts, made of hard metal, the inner and outer diameter are smooth, the ID is roughly 14mm.
Where it could come from?? What shall i check?
Obviously i do not want to dismantle the engine, it runs ok, no misfire, starts ok, does not smoke, nothing knocks, does not take oil, no diesel in the sump.
