Take out all the spark plugs and check the insulator colour. White to black is normal depending if they are checked after a hot run or a cold start (carbon fouling). If a plug comes up brown then its likely coolant is getting into that cylinder.
My Disco2 v8 on LPG has gulped a bit of coolant.
Less than a litre but enough to concern me..
Fairly sure it is coming from the heater core due to the smell of rotting carpet.
There's none on the ground or anywhere I can see..
But.... I have checked the oil straight after a run and looked for any froth or signs of coolant. No froth but a few tiny bubbles. I am talking maybe three on the dip stick and less than a half a millimetre across. Oil is a nice healthy colour and smell.
Nothing in filler neck but fresh oil
Any other checks I can make before the trip to Redcliff.
Thanks in advance
Ian..

After 80 thou all mine had a nice amount of tan / brown crud on the insulators. Runs 99.99% of the time on LPG and uses no water. ??
(If anyone is interested, the crud dissolves instantly with spirits of salts applied with a fine brush, then rinse with fresh water)

Lash out on a UV torch and go hunting in and around your feet...where the carpet is giving off that lovely rotting smell...
If it's green coolant, it'll flouresce like mad

A more thorough look in better light shows it might actually be one of the LPG coolant connectors.
There's a bit of green residue there.
Which is actually good news.
Levels have remained the same
