    ASB troubles

Recently serviced my Defender Td5, and the problem they came up with was a "ABS fault LHF sensor and ABS pump failure".
Well, I'm not sure exactly what all that means, but I sure understood the cost - 2-3000 with labor!
Did anybody else had this prob before, and is there some easier (possibly cheaper) way to get around it, the buying the whole ABS mudule?

Get onto Paddocks in the UK and get a couple of ABS sensors they were 75 Pounds each last time I bought them.
Check the relay under the drivers seat that supplies power to the pump also check fuses and clean up the earth especially the one behind the coolant bottle.
If the Modulator is stuffed Jobson Electronics in Carlton will be able to fix it for you they usually charge about $800
Be warned it is a pig of a thing to remove but is possible if you undo the pedal box.
I have no affiliation with Jobson

Does the D2 Fix work with the Defender unit??? Where they hardwire new leads inside the pump.
Plenty of info hidden in AULRO on D2 ABS units, advanced search and The Good Oil are places to look.
I replaced the switches in mine, fixed my issue at the time. They were cheap ex EBAY.

Andy during my fixing I found that the Shuttle Valves will fit as does the valve body
Option B is not going to fix a failed pump that said the error codes these systems give can be quite random.

Never had any ABS issues with the Defender.
Have had pump failure codes on the D2 several times before fitting shuttle valves.
Worth looking at the rotors/pads too.I was getting constant problems with the 3 amigoes, all sorts of error codes, power failure, shuttle valve failure, missing speed signals etc.A new set of rotors and pads and no more issues.
