Hi Andy. The correct gasket is important, the ERR 7094 is correct for pre 2001 models. The D section is totally different between early and late.

I use a small line of decent sealant around it to help seal it.

Both are ERR7094 gaskets.Do you only use sealant on the D section??? I did last time both are leaking there again.
Both have pro vents,Im wondering if it increases the blow by pressure enough to break the seal on the D.
Cant see super glue being a problem, works well on O rings etc.

Yeah, here's my tip.... Get the gaskets out of the packet the night before, and lay them out as they are suppose to be. Rest stuff on them so they hold that position, and do it in the house in the warm. I learnt this on attempt three having cracked the s***s at the job the first few times!! Once flat, a bead of gasket sealant in the groove will hold it in the cover long enough to invert it, guide that inner tin splash plate around the obstacles and fit! Remember also to change the rubber inserts on the bolts holding the cover down. Check each spacer as well. I'm assuming you are changing the injector looms. If not, do so. The other thing worth nothing whilst there is the colour of the injector tops, and the series of letters on each injector. If you ever have the car plugged in you can then confirm these codes and correct any that are wrong. Good luck. If it starts to go wrong, start again after a cuppa!!

Yep I did one last week on a discovery. Ran a bead of RTV gasket maker along the rocker cover which helped it stick in place during fitting. I would also recommend using a small mirror to make sure the 'D' is seated properly before tightening. I also replaced the sealing washers as they'd been there since new and were a bit worn.

It's only been a week but it certainly isn't leaking oil anymore!
