    Discovery Sender help

    Hi,

There is a sensor/sender under the turbo which is very hard to see, there are two wires coming out, one white the other black, the black one is hanging loose.

I have traced the white wire around the back of the engine into the wiring loom but cannot find where the black one goes to?

What is this Sender/Sensor for? and how do I track the black cable, also recently the temp gauge is acting up, could this problem be connected?

    Photo attached

    Thank you

    Nigel

I'm assuming it is a TD5, can't remember seeing that on a 300TDi, usually black denotes an Earth wire, so it would normally go to an earth point on the body/chassis/ engine, someone with more nous on TD5's will be along and should know where it goes, regards Frank.

It's the oil pressure sender and it only has the one wire connected though 2 are present on many switches.

    Thanks

Yes it is a TD5, I guess it just didn't make sense just to have 20cm of wire floating around.

    Thank you
