Thread: Maxi-Drive Centre Swap ? (rear to front)

Hi all,

I sheared the axles and flanges in my rear MD setup
(I think they have been going for a long time)

basically my options are:

a\ buy new axles + flanges @ about $900

b\ buy 2nd hand ones (that have surface rust) for about 200 ...still need flanges.

c\ buy whole rear MD diff inc locker, axles + flanges 2nd hand for $1000

or d\ find someone on aulro who want to sell me a 2nd hand set in good cond for a comfortable price (a long-shot)

My question is: how much different are front MD lockers to rear? If I buy the whole diff then this will leave me a spare centre and i'd love to replace the arb in the front.
I know I will have to source front axles but it might be worth it.

Anyone done this?

I'd go option c probley cheaper in the long run and you get spares
